YOUth CAN Chicago’s mission is to intervene in the lives of low income youth in the community by enriching their academic, cultural and social development through academic assistance, computer technology, art, entrepreneurship and music programs. YOUth CAN strengthen the self-preservation skills of community youth by giving them the tools necessary for success.  “Discovering the potential in YOU!”

Students learn entrepreneurship by developing, creating, marketing and selling the products they create.

Extracurricular Activities

Studio 5090 – The purpose is to have students target problems and develop solutions as they engage in various expressions through music and sound. In the music program, youth work together to write, produce, and engineer professional studio recordings. Youth develop and create video productions and digital photography.

Donate to upgrade the studio as we celebrate10 years of providing a state of the art studio.  We are in need of a new apple computer, software upgrades and flooring.

Design Studio – Youth design and create custom T-shirts, tote bags, cups, mugs, buttons and other specialty items.  Art Studio – the art studio is a place where youth immerse in experimental and abstract art, creating self-portraits, paintings, ceramics, and other arts & craft projects. Youth sell items they create on Market Days throughout the year. Donations will be used to continue to update equipment.
