SocialWorks aims to empower youth through the arts, education, and civic engagement while fostering leadership, accessibility, and positivity. Our initiatives, OpenMike, Warmest Winter, Kids of the Kingdom, and our New Chance: Arts & Literature Fund, were created to advocate for youth and the fulfillment of individual achievement and success in all its forms. We’re excited to continue to bring impact to the city of Chicago, and we hope you’ll support along the way.

Extracurricular Activities

At their monthly Open Mike event, SocialWorks partners with the Chicago Public Library to present a safe space for high school students to share, express, and network with like-minded individuals. This event showcases randomly selected students to present a 3-minute piece of their choice. Afterwards, SocialWorks brings their friends to perform, teach, and inspire. Open Mike often closes with professionals sharing about their creative process and pieces of their choosing.
