SocialWorks aims to empower youth through the arts, education, and civic engagement while fostering leadership, accessibility, and positivity. Our initiatives, OpenMike, Warmest Winter, Kids of the Kingdom, and our New Chance: Arts & Literature Fund, were created to advocate for youth and the fulfillment of individual achievement and success in all its forms. Summer Programs
Kids of the Kingdom (KOK) is a summer program focused on the children of Chicago. Founded at Emerald Avenue Church in 1977 by Sister Gladys Bennett, KOK provides an outlet for recreation, socialization, and expression for Chicago youth throughout the summer with interactive events, field-trips, and dynamic lesson plans.
