SocialWorks aims to empower youth through the arts, education, and civic engagement while fostering leadership, accessibility, and positivity. Our initiatives, OpenMike, Warmest Winter, Kids of the Kingdom, and our New Chance: Arts & Literature Fund, were created to advocate for youth and the fulfillment of individual achievement and success in all its forms. We’re excited to continue to bring impact to the city of Chicago, and we hope you’ll support along the way.

Housing

Warmest Winter is a seasonal initiative inspiring others through service. When this initiative launched in December of 2015, Chance wanted to give Chicago’s highly mobile community a special coat that was practical and able to withstand Chicago’s harsh winters. With the help of a Detroit non-profit, The Empowerment Plan, they were able to provide a water-resistant and self-heating coat that could transform into a sleeping bag and be worn as an over-the-shoulder bag when it is not in use.
